Upgrading from the 3CX Browser Extension to the 3CX Desktop App

Due to upcoming changes in popular browsers, the 3CX Browser Extension will no longer function as a softphone (allowing users to make and receive phone calls from the extension).
The 3CX Desktop App will take the place of the 3CX Brower Extension. After upgrading to the 3CX Desktop App you may wish to leave the 3CX Browser Extension installed as it will function as a "click-to-call" extension allowing you to initiate a phone call by clicking a phone number within the browser.

Please follow these steps when presented with the following message


Click the Install button to download the installer.

Click the downloaded installer file and follow the instructions to complete the installation.
After the installation is completed, return to the above screen and click Provision.
When prompted with the below dialog box, choose Open 3CX Desktop App.
Once provisioning has been completed, you'll be presented with the app similar to the one below.


Click the Phone icon in the upper-right corner to open the pop-out Dialer.


You may use the Call using drop down menu to select the Desktop App, Mobile App, or compatible desk phone to make calls.
